Nikon Cameras in the UK were the first company to use Virtual Press Centre software to maintain their online press office.

Says Elaine Swift, Media Relations Manager for Nikon UK: "We originally wanted to build an image archive for press use at our site, but once we learned of the additional features of Virtual Press Centre software, we decided that its added features would better help us serve the journalists that we deal with.

"Before using the software we were mailing our press releases to every journalist individually and it was taking ages. Also, we had no easy way of distributing our images. I've wanted to set up an online press room for some time but didn't imagine software was available to make the job so easy.

"Now I can write my releases, publish them to our site and distribute them to a targeted list of journalists, all without leaving my web browser."
