About the software's developers
Virtual Press Centre software has been created by media relations
and marketing company WPM Media. The company provides online
editorial and web services to a number of clients in the UK.
Managing director Darron Hartas has been involved in the publishing
industry for over 25 years, starting out first as a photojournalist
and working his way up through writing, editing and then publishing
specialist trade journals. He was responsible for the introduction
of what was (at the time) the UK's largest online photography
magazine, BJP Online, back in 1998.
With such a strong editorial background, the company was in
an ideal position to understand the frustrations editors face
every day when it comes to press release material. Although
many companies now submit releases via e-mail, few
get it right. We have listened to many editors and have built
a system with the end-user (journalist) in mind.
WPS Media's involvement in the
imaging industry has provided us with a deep understanding of
image formats and compressions, so editors can be sure that
images are located easily within your online press office. Once
located, images are downloaded and uncompressed automatically
with just one mouse click.
Our aim is to provide a very personal service. We know that
every business is different and each will have differing needs
when it comes to the creation, submission and management of
press material. From the outset we will work with you to provide
a system that will suit your exact needs.
We want to be able to set up your press office management system
so that it will save you both time and money and ultimately
achieve your company or local authority added exposure across
the media.
