Software for running a corporate or local authority online press
office
Virtual Press Centre software enables in-house press officers
and PR agencies to create and administer a corporate online
press office at the company's website, together with the distribution
of releases by e-mail. It is entirely Web-based and is extremely
simple to use.
The admin software is made up of a series of modules; each one
designed to make your life easier and in turn provide greater
cost efficiencies. The modules comprise: Writing, Archiving,
Database, Mailing and Admin.
No longer do you need to wait for someone else to update your
online Press Room the software automatically builds your
site whenever you publish or amend material. And that means
instant availability to editors. It even displays links and
thumbnail images of the most recent stories on the home page
of your Press Poom. Plus, it is custom made to fit the style
of your site.

Archiving Module
At the heart of the system, the Archiving Module allows you
to post news releases to your website instantaneously
without the need for outside technical assistance. It enables
the uploading and cross referencing of associated images, sound
files and video clips, which can be downloaded by journalists
in a variety of different file sizes and formats. The archive
is searchable and all press material is filed in chronological
order and into user-definable categories, if required. (more

Writing Module
All modules integrate together beautifully and the Writing Module
is designed as a specialist production tool which interfaces
with the Mailing Module. All too often releases written in standard
word processing programmes do not translate well to e-mailed
distribution. Our word processor is designed specifically with
online distribution in mind. However, you may still use your
favourite word processor in conjunction with Virtual Press Centre.

Mailing Module
Gone are the days when editors preferred news material in hard
copy form. In today's digitised publishing world, journalists
expect copy and images to be instantly accessible and that means
in a form that involves as little production work as possible.
The Mailing Module allows you to select your written release
and e-mail it directly to your database of editors right
from the software at the push of a button. No messing
about with separate mailing programs and mailing lists. What's
more, each e-mail looks as though it has come directly from
you and is addressed to the individual editor. (More

Database Module
To get the best out of the software you may import your entire
media contacts list into the Virtual Press Centre Database Module.
This will enable you to categorise your press contacts. You
may also create as many different categories as you wish and
assign each contact to a category. When you come to do your
mailing, just select one or more categories to mail to. The
software even checks that it doesn't send out duplicates! (more

Admin Module
Even though we set up the software
for you, there are still plenty of user-customisable elements,
so that you can tweak your online press office just the way
